Oscar Parham

Oscar Parham was recently released from the Illinois Department of Corrections after serving a 30-year sentence for a crime he did not commit.
Since his release, he has assumed the role of Youth and Young Adult Mentorship Director at Legacy Reentry Foundation. On May 14, 2022, Parham graduated with honors, earning a master’s degree in Christian Ministry and Restorative Arts from North Park Theological Seminary. He has also advocated before several legislators for Parole Illinois, an organization dedicated to reinstating a parole board in Illinois for individuals who have received unjust sentences and those deserving of a second chance.
Recently, Parham obtained 501(c)(3) status to establish his non-profit organization called Home Away from Home Youth Development & Reentry. His mission is to demonstrate to society that adversity does not preclude excellence.
Our Goals
Establish life long connections with youth through mentorship.
Assist all youth with attending and completing school, securing employment and strengthening the family dynamic.
